Big Walk Discord — Community Servers & LFG
No official Discord
House House has not created an official Discord server for Big Walk. The official website, Press Kit, and FAQ contain no Discord links. The only official contact channels are email: help@bigwalk.game for support and press@bigwalk.game for media inquiries.
The r/BigWalk subreddit moderator has confirmed: "None of those are official servers hosted or endorsed by House House at all."
Why no external chat?
The official FAQ explicitly discourages external communication tools: "Talking to players outside the game is NOT ALLOWED." The FAQ further explains: "Big Walk gives you fun challenges and situations that can enable or restrict your talking in different, and interesting, ways. For example, you might find yourself in a situation where you can't hear each other, and you need to find other ways to communicate. That's only possible with the built-in, in-game voice chat."
PC Gamer's Christopher Livingston reinforces this in his feature article: "Stick to proximity chat: robbing the game of its creative problem solving takes away a lot of the fun." GameSpot's review agrees: using external voice chat "would act like a cheat code, circumventing a puzzle's intentional friction."
This is a design philosophy, not a technical restriction. The proximity voice system — where voices fade with distance, muffle through walls, and crackle through walkie-talkies — is the core gameplay mechanic.
Third-party servers
Despite the official stance, several third-party Discord servers exist for player coordination:
- Multiple LFG (Looking For Group) Discord servers are promoted on Steam Community forums and sites like myserver.gg
- These are all player-created, non-official servers
- Discord invite links are not permitted in r/BigWalk posts (must be sent via DM)
Warning: Using external voice chat may diminish the intended gameplay experience. The game's puzzles and communication challenges are designed around the proximity voice system.
Finding groups
The best ways to find groups without Discord:
