Big Walk How Long to Beat — Playtime & Completion

Main story length

Big Walk takes approximately 7–10.5 hours to complete the main story. HowLongToBeat.com reports an average of 10½ hours based on early player submissions. TheGamer estimates "between seven and ten hours" based on HLTB data and review aggregates.

The main ending is reached when you unlock the "Big Goodbye" achievement at the end of the Black Tower sequence. This represents the completion of the core cooperative adventure.

Note: These are early numbers — Big Walk launched on August 4, 2026, and HLTB had only 21 completed submissions at the time of collection (August 9, 2026). The average will shift as more players submit data.

100% completion

After the main ending, you can continue playing to complete additional puzzles. TheGamer explains: "When you reach the main end of Big Walk, though, you're not quite finished with the game if you don't want to be, since there are a further several puzzles to check out." Completing these purple endgame challenges unlocks the "Big Game" achievement.

Games.gg reports there are 7 purple endgame challenges, described as "more challenging iterations of main game puzzles."

Speedrun records

As of August 9, 2026, the fastest known completion times are:

  • Glitchless Duo: 1:59:03 (Chocler, YouTube) — the current world record for two-player no-glitch runs
  • Any% Solo: 8:41 (Chocler, YouTube) — uses sequence breaks to skip content

These times represent the absolute minimum for experienced players and are not representative of typical play experiences.

What affects playtime

TheGamer identifies several factors that impact your total playtime:

  • Group puzzle-solving speed — communication efficiency directly affects completion time
  • Group size — larger groups (8–12) are more chaotic but can solve puzzles in parallel
  • Sticking together — proximity voice chat means you'll mostly need to stay in the same area
  • Transport unlocks — unlocking the train, chairlift, and tunnels reduces backtracking
  • Exploration vs. progression — the game rewards wandering and hanging out, which extends playtime

The official FAQ describes Big Walk as "a long-form cooperative game" designed to be played "over multiple sessions," suggesting the intended experience is not rushed.
